TravelSaharai Morocco Tours
Website design and build for a boutique operator specialising in crafted desert and cultural experiences across Morocco.
I’m a freelance WordPress developer in London with over 15 years’ experience, building custom WordPress websites for businesses and charities across the UK.

Every site is hand-coded with no page builder, so it loads fast and gives your team blocks they can edit without breaking the design.
Whether you need a new build, new features on an existing site or someone to fix what another developer started, you deal directly with me from the first call to launch.
Brands I’ve worked with
I’ve been building with WordPress for over 15 years. Custom themes from scratch, bespoke plugins, WooCommerce stores, complex content management setups, rebuilds, migrations and ongoing development support. If it involves planned WordPress work, I’ve probably done it.
I build clean, well-structured WordPress sites that are fast, accessible and genuinely easy for you and your team to manage. Every project gets proper staging, version control and a considered approach to performance and maintainability. The goal is always a site that works well now and still works well in two years.
I’m equally comfortable building from the ground up or jumping into an existing setup to improve, extend or rebuild what’s already there. Whether that’s a custom-coded theme, a block editor build, a WooCommerce store or a site that’s grown unwieldy and needs a better foundation.
I’ve worked with WordPress since it was a blogging tool. Custom themes, complex WooCommerce builds, tricky migrations. I’ve seen it all.
I build from scratch for maximum performance and flexibility, but I’m comfortable working with existing setups, even page builders from time to time :-).
Clear timelines, regular progress updates and honest communication throughout. No disappearing acts.
No account managers, no juniors. One experienced developer from start to finish.
Hand-coded themes built on theme.json and structured SCSS. No page builder, no unused code, nothing slowing your site down.
Bespoke blocks designed around your content, so your team can build and edit pages without breaking the design.
Plugins that do exactly what your business needs – CRM connections, booking tools, APIs and custom post types with proper relationships.
New features, fixes and improvements to sites someone else built, including page builder sites that need a better foundation.
When a page won’t load, the editor throws errors or an update takes the site down, I find the cause and fix it at the source, so it stays fixed.
A logical page structure, structured data, meta titles and descriptions, and redirects from old URLs, so Google and AI assistants can read and cite your pages.
Faster load times through lean code, optimised images, caching and sensible hosting, measured against Google’s Core Web Vitals.
Semantic markup, keyboard support and colour contrast checked against WCAG 2.2 AA as part of the build, not added afterwards.
A free call to talk through what you need, what isn’t working now and what success looks like for your business.
A written scope and fixed quote, with the content structure, custom blocks and any integrations agreed before work starts.
Development on a private staging site under version control, with regular progress updates so you can see it taking shape.
Testing across devices and browsers, redirects and SEO checks, then a careful go-live and a walkthrough of how to edit your site.
Ongoing updates, fixes and new features when you need them, from the same developer who built it.

Happy is an understatement. I came to Leon with an issue on my website, he spent time exploring the problem and then solved it in minutes. He charged me an incredibly fair price. Strongly recommended.

Yes. I’m based in North London and work with businesses across London and the UK. Most projects run remotely with video calls, but I’m happy to meet in person in London when it helps.
Yes. Larger projects can start with paid project discovery from £1,500: a review of your current site, your goals and competitors, a sitemap and a fixed quote for the build. If you go ahead, the discovery fee comes off the project price.
For new builds, no. I hand-code custom themes and Gutenberg blocks, which keeps sites faster and easier to maintain. I do work on existing page builder sites, and can help you move off one when it’s holding you back.
You talk to the person writing the code, so decisions happen in one conversation instead of being passed along a chain. Because I design as well as build, there’s no gap between a design team and a development team either. For most business and charity sites, one senior specialist is quicker to work with and easier to budget for.
Either works. If you already have designs, I’ll build from those. If you don’t, I design sites in Figma before building them, so design and development come from one person. See web design.
Yes. The finished site, custom theme and all your content belong to you, hosted wherever you choose. I follow standard WordPress practices and document the code, so if you ever change developer, the handover is straightforward.
Yes. A lot of my work is improving, extending or fixing existing sites. I start by reviewing the theme, plugins and hosting so I understand what’s there before changing anything.
Yes. Every site is built so your team can edit pages, posts and content without touching code, and I walk you through it at launch.
Yes. I regularly take agency designs from Figma to finished WordPress website, as I did for Pinney Talfourd, working white label or alongside an in-house team. See white label WordPress development.
Custom WordPress websites start from £2,000 for a smaller site. The final price depends on the number of page types and the custom functionality needed, and after a free call I give you a fixed quote so the price is agreed before work starts.
Yes. WordPress runs over 40% of the web, so it’s well supported, any developer can pick it up, and you’re never tied to one company. You own your site and content outright, it can grow from a few pages to a large site or online shop, and it works well with search engines and AI tools. Its reputation for being slow or insecure usually comes from cheap hosting, too many plugins or poor maintenance, not from WordPress itself.
Yes. AI builders like Lovable and Bolt are good at getting something on screen quickly, but the result can be hard to change, slow to load, inaccessible or invisible to search engines. I’ll review what you have and tell you whether it’s worth fixing or better rebuilt in WordPress, which you can then edit yourself. If you want to move it, see WordPress migration.
Yes. Clean code, fast load times, proper heading structure, schema and metadata all help search engines and AI tools understand your site. I set those foundations as part of every build.
Yes. I offer managed WordPress hosting and WordPress support and maintenance, so updates, backups and security are taken care of.
